The 1,400-pound bust of Elvis Presley that once graced Mississippi’s float in the 1990 Tournament of Roses Parade went on exhibit today in Los Angeles, marking Elvis’ 56th birthday.

“I guess you could call it sort of like a ceremony before we unveil this thing--add a little pomp and circumstance to this whole thing,” said Brett Waller, 27, of Los Angeles, one of the owners of the one-third acre “sculpture garden.”

Waller said the bust will be displayed with the sculptors’ other Elvis icons, including some in a refurbished shed called “The Voodoo Elvis Barn.”

“We have sort of a shrine for Elvis,” Waller said. “We have a lot of Elvis Presley’s stuff . . . a lot of photos, tabloids going back to ‘78, memorial-Elvis kind of junk like that.”
