THE SIDELINES : Arkansas-Texas Rivalry to End

DALLAS —
The University of Arkansas will end its 96-year football rivalry with the University of Texas when the Razorbacks jump to the Southeastern Conference in 1992, officials said.
DeLoss Dodds, Texas athletic director, said Arkansas Athletic Director Frank Broyles has told him that Arkansas will no longer play Southwest Conference teams because the SEC has established its divisions and scheduling.
