Amotorist was shot and killed by another driver in a traffic dispute on a North Hollywood street, police said.

John Raymond Dillon, 30, of North Hollywood was found dead by police beside his car at Victory Boulevard and Tujunga Avenue about 9:30 p.m. Saturday. He had been shot once in the chest, Los Angeles Police Detective Mike Coffey said Sunday.

James Andrew Brown, 27, of Burbank was arrested on suspicion of murder after he called police and admitted killing Dillon, Coffey said.

Coffey said Dillon pulled in front of Brown at the intersection and refused to drive forward when the traffic signal changed. The men began to argue. Dillon walked back to Brown’s car and punched him in the face, Coffey said.

Brown then pulled out a handgun and shot Dillon, police said. He fled but later surrendered to police at a Burbank restaurant. Brown was being held without bail.
