An argument at a party in Burbank exploded into an exchange of gunfire that left one man dead and his alleged attacker critically injured, police said.

Justin Taylor, 19, of North Hollywood left the party at a house in the 1700 block of Naomi Street about 11:20 p.m. Saturday after an argument with another party-goer, Terry Allen Brunner, 25, of San Fernando. Taylor returned minutes later with a shotgun and shot and killed Brunner, Burbank Police Lt. Larry Koch said Sunday.

Taylor, meanwhile, was shot several times by another person with a handgun. Hector Arroyo, 25, and Ronald Gutierrez, 25, both of Sylmar, fled the party by car and were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder a short time later while driving near Burbank Airport.

It was unclear which man shot Taylor, Koch said. Both were being held without bail at the Burbank Jail.

Taylor, who was in critical condition in the jail ward at County-USC Medical Center, will face murder charges in the killing of Brunner, Koch said.
