Cougars’ Klingler Says He’ll Return for Senior Season
Despite reports that University of Houston quarterback David Klingler will forgo his senior season to enter the NFL draft, the record-setting player says he will be back with the Cougars next season.
Before Saturday’s Miami Dolphins-Buffalo Bills playoff game, NBC-TV commentator Will McDonough said there were indications Klingler would turn pro.
Klingler, however, quickly denied the report. “I’ll be back,” he said. “I don’t know how those rumors get started.”
Houston Coach John Jenkins said he offered to look at the NFL market and talk to several professional scouts but Klingler “told me not to even bother checking things out with the pros because he was coming back next year.”
