SANTA ANITA : Garden Gal Highlights La Centinela

Garden Gal, never worse than third in six career starts, gets top billing among seven sophomore fillies set for the $75,000-added La Centinela Stakes on Wednesday at Santa Anita.

Angel Cordero Jr. will make the trip from the East Coast to ride Garden Gal.

Garden Gal won the Landaluce Stakes at Hollywood Park last July.

With seven starters, the La Centinela purse will total $80,925 and the winner will net $47,175.

In post position order, the field includes Paula Revere, Jose Santos, 114; Tomorrow’s Song, Gary Stevens, 114; Assombrie, Chris McCarron, 116; Nice Assay, Laffit Pincay, 114; Present Moment, Alex Solis, 118; Lady Turk, Kent Desormeaux, 114, and Garden Gal, Cordero, 118.

Tomorrow’s Song was an easy winner in her debut on Dec. 30.

Present Moment was fourth in the Hollywood Starlet.
