Malibu : Auto Club Honors Officers
Two California Highway Patrol officers from Malibu have been honored by the Automobile Club of Southern California.
Officers A. R. Odell and Mike Schwab this week received the club’s annual award that recognizes police officers with outstanding success in recovering stolen vehicles and helping to bring car thieves to justice.
Odell recovered 12 stolen vehicles and made three arrests, and Schwab recovered nine stolen vehicles and made three arrests during 1990, a club spokesman said. According to the auto club, thieves stole 296,000 vehicles representing $890 million in losses statewide last year.
