Pasadena : Activist Named to Panel
Community activist Don Wheeldin was named by the city directors to the newly created Northwest Commission.
Wheeldin was named to the post after the board refused to place on the commission Michael Zinzun, a black activist whose past lawsuits against the city have been controversial. Both were nominated by Director William Paparian.
The seven-member commission is charged with ensuring the completion of the Northwest Plan, a $35-million improvement project for Northwest Pasadena started five years ago.
