Costa Mesa’s Adams Reaches Racquetball Final

Top-seeded Lynn Adams of Costa Mesa will play in the final of the Ektelon Women’s Racquetball Winter Classic today at Racquetball World after winning quarterfinal and semifinal matches Saturday.

Adams defeated Lynne Coburn of Baltimore, 11-10, 9-11, 11-9, 11-1, in the quarterfinals and defeated Malia Bailey of Norfolk, Va., 6-11, 11-3, 11-2, 11-8, in the semifinals.

Bailey, who was seeded sixth, upset fourth-seeded Toni Bevlock of Santa Ana, 8-11, 11-9, 11-7, 11-2, in the quarterfinals.

Caryn McKinney of Atlanta will play Adams in the final at 2 p.m. McKinney defeated Kaye Kuhlfeld of Indianapolis, 10-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-9, in the quarterfinals and Michele Gilman of Ontario, Ore., 11-5, 11-5, 10-11, 11-4, in the semifinals. Gilman defeated Jackie Paraiso of San Diego, 8-11, 11-3, 7-11, 11-5, 11-5, in the quarterfinals to advance.
