A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and felony manslaughter after a woman died in a car crash, police reported Monday.

Robert Arthur Combs of El Cajon was arrested and taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was in fair condition with internal injuries, El Cajon police said.

Pinkie Williams, 27, a licensed vocational nurse, was ejected from her car and killed. Also in the car were her 7-year-old son and her brother, Michael Williams, 29, who was driving.

Michael Williams was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition with a broken left ankle. The boy, whose name was not released, was taken to Grossmont Hospital, where he was examined and released.

A passenger in Combs’ sports car, Steven Brent Duncan, 29, was treated and released at Grossmont Hospital.

El Cajon police said Combs was speeding south on Mollison Avenue when he ran a red light and collided with Williams’ car at Lexington Avenue.
