FRIENDLY FIRE: Do you feel inundated by war news? If so, you’re not alone, says psychologist Marvin Rofsky of Orange. . . . The “bombardment” of information hitting Americans is one new aspect of this war, he notes. In past conflicts, it took days or weeks for news to reach the home front. Satellite communications have changed things. Rofsky says he senses that people could become frustrated if they watch war news but get no new facts, just restatements of information they already know. He also worries that the oceans of information flooding the airwaves “may have long-range effects on our emotional stamina here at home.” People may tire of war news and quickly feel burned out.
