WORLD IN BRIEF : HAITI : President-Elect to Go to France for Talks

President-elect Jean-Bertrand Aristide of Haiti said he had accepted French President Francois Mitterrand’s invitation to visit France and discuss economic aid for his Caribbean nation. But at a news conference in Port-au-Prince, he said that because of security reasons, he would not disclose when he would make the trip. Aristide was elected in December and is scheduled to be sworn in Feb. 7.
