Jordan and Iran have agreed to reopen their embassies in each other’s capitals, Tehran Radio reported. The decision came during a visit to Tehran by Jordanian Foreign Minister Taher Masri, who flew home Monday. Masri, the highest-ranking Jordanian official to visit Iran since the Islamic revolution in 1979, held talks with President Hashemi Rafsanjani and handed him a message from Jordan’s King Hussein. In a broadcast monitored in Athens, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Velayati said the two sides also discussed the Gulf War. The countries resumed diplomatic relations early this month after a break of 10 years.
