Teradata to Move More Operations: As part of its continuing restructuring, the El Segundo-based manufacturer of database computer systems said it will perform a larger share of its manufacturing at its newer and more efficient facility in Ireland, reducing its operations in the Los Angeles area. This decision will further reduce the cost of manufacturing its core products, said Kenneth W. Simonds, Teradata’s chairman and chief executive. He said the firm will continue to manufacture a limited number of database computers and certain other products in its Southland facilities. Teradata, which last fall announced an organizational consolidation and downsizing, reported second-quarter net income of $436,000.
