Share

A Pasadena man was recuperating Tuesday after a suspected gang member walked up to him while he was working on his car and shot him once in the buttocks. Phillip White, 21, was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital after the attack at 3:20 p.m. Monday. He was reported in stable condition, sheriff’s deputies said.

While White worked on his car in the 400 block of Vermont Street, a man about 20 years old wearing a black shirt, pants and a Los Angeles Raiders cap walked up to him and started firing at him with a handgun, deputies said.

The shots hit White and two cars parked nearby. Deputies had no suspects, but said they believe the shooting was gang-related.
