COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : SCC Beats Point Loma With Strong Second Half
Southern California College pulled away in the second half and defeated Point Loma Nazarene, 92-71, in a Golden State Athletic Conference game at Point Loma.
The victory ended a two-game losing streak for the Vanguards (17-5, 4-2 in the conference). Jeff Bickmore scored 18 points and Eric Carmichael scored 16 to lead five Vanguard players in double figures. Rusty Fallin scored 20 points for Point Loma Nazarene (10-13, 2-4).
In nonconference men’s basketball:
Christ College 84, Pacific Christian 58--David Weiss had 18 points and Aaron Clasen had 14 for host Christ College Irvine (9-14), which led, 40-30, at the half. Kenny Crawford scored 22 for Pacific Christian.
In nonconference women’s basketball:
Christ College Irvine 91, Pacific Christian 24--Nancy Geisler had 18 points and Julie Workman had 17 for host Christ College Irvine (14-4), who led, 44-12, at the half.
