Not Cheery for Woody: A Mardi Gras group may ask “Cheers” actor Woody Harrelson to stand aside as parade grand marshal after a New Orleans television station linked the actor to anti-war protests. Harrelson, who plays bartender Woody Boyd on the NBC show, was selected earlier this month to head the Krewe of Endymion’s parade on Feb. 9, the weekend before Mardi Gras. Endymion’s parade is to feature a patriotic salute to U.S. troops in the Persian Gulf. Harrelson said that he still wanted to be grand marshal for Endymion: “As far as I’m concerned, Mardi Gras had nothing to do with politics.”
