Countywide : Hairstylists to Aid Troops, Families

Share

Sixty hairstylists will grab their scissors and offer haircuts Sunday to raise money for U.S. soldiers in the Persian Gulf and their families.

The hairstylists from Linear Hair in Irvine will be joined by stylists from five other company-owned salons in the area to offer $10 cuts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with all proceeds going to the troops and their families.

A regularly priced cut at Linear costs about $30 for women and $23 for men.

“We expect a very big turnout,” said Suzanne Schwartz, a Linear stylist.

Stylists will take one-hour shifts and will cut hair on a first-come, first-served basis on all 15 chairs at Linear Hair, Schwartz said. She estimates that the stylists will be able to cut 180 heads of hair during the six-hour cut-a-thon.
