Pomona : Firm Will Modify City Hall

Share

The Pomona City Council has awarded a $151,500 contract to M. R. Bracey Construction of Ontario to modify City Hall and the council chambers to make way for the council’s expansion from five members to seven in April.

The work will include expansion of the council dais and creation of new offices for council members and the mayor in the City Hall area now occupied by the Personnel Department.

As part of the shift, the Personnel Department and the Redevelopment Agency will take over the second-floor area now occupied by the Finance Department, which will be moved to the City Hall basement.

Voters last year approved a plan to elect most council members by district and to enlarge the council to seven. Its seventh member, the mayor, will continue to be elected citywide.
