From Times Wire Services
LONDON —
Former world middleweight champion Nigel Benn was ordered held on bail today on assault charges.
A magistrate’s court set unconditional bail until Feb. 26 for the 27-year-old boxer, who was accused of doing bodily harm to another London man in an incident involving Benn’s car last December.
Benn lost his World Boxing Organization middleweight title to Britain’s Chris Eubank last November. He is scheduled to fight American Robbie Sims in London on April 3.
