Victor Kiam, owner of the New England Patriots, is still making cutting remarks about Boston Herald sportswriter Lisa Olson.

Kiam, appearing at the Stamford Old Timers’ Athletic Assn. awards dinner Monday night, made mention of Olson in a double-entendre joke involving Olson, Iraqis and Patriot missiles.

Kiam was unavailable for comment Tuesday. Sam Jankovich, the Patriots’ chief executive officer, said, “We are unable to reach Mr. Kiam. Since we were unable to speak with him, it would be inappropriate for us to comment at this time.”

In September, Olson claimed she was sexually harassed while interviewing members of the Patriots in the team’s locker room. Olson alleged that lewd remarks and gestures were made by the players while they were naked or partially clothed. Kiam, who was quoted making disparaging remarks about Olson a few days after the incident, eventually apologized.

After a National Football League investigation into the incident, the team and several players were fined. Three players were fined a total of $22,500, and the Patriots received a $50,000 fine.

Attempts to reach Olson for comment Tuesday night were unsuccessful. But Boston Herald executive sports editor Robert Sales said, “I’m disappointed in Victor. I thought he had apologized, and I thought the apology was sincere. I also thought he understood the type of pain this gave Lisa, and that he would refrain from this type of joke.”

More than 700 attended the dinner to honor former local athletes each year for their contributions to local sports, as well as national sports figures. Kiam, a Stamford resident for many years, was presented a national award.
