CENTURY LEAGUE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Orange Blows Lead but Then Holds On to Beat El Modena
Carlos Duran scored 24 points and had six assists as the Orange High School boys’ basketball team hung on for a 65-63 victory over El Modena in a Century League game at El Modena.
Orange, which has won six in a row, led by as many as 18 in the second half. El Modena cut the lead to 65-63 on a three-pointer by Bob Terry with four seconds left. Orange then let the clock run out on the victory.
Jamiel Worthem scored 15 points and had 11 rebounds for Orange (14-8, 7-3). Terry had 18 for El Modena.
In another league game:
Foothill 67, Villa Park 52--Nick Knopsis and Sean Amos each scored 18 points for visiting Foothill (13-11, 7-3). Aaron Boone scored 22 points for Villa Park.
