Hit-Run Accident Leaves 2 Injured

A pregnant woman and a man working under his parked car were injured in a hit-and-run accident in Logan Heights, San Diego police said.

Terry Dillard, 29, was working under his car near 31st Street and Clay Avenue about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Sgt. Mike Gibbs said. Christine Doxey, 30, was standing in front of the car.

A vehicle struck the rear of Dillard’s car. He was dragged along the ground by the car, which then struck Doxey, who is pregnant. Dillard and Doxey were taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, where they asked the hospital not to release information about their condition.

Dawud Najeeullah, 32, was arrested in the 500 block of 31st Street minutes after the accident and was being held in the downtown County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, and hit-and-run driving.
