Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed an elderly woman Monday.
Police said Dathel Brewer Oswald, 88, who lived in the 4100 block of 39th Street in East San Diego, was crossing at an unmarked crosswalk on University Avenue near Cherokee Avenue about noon when she was hit by a tan Dodge van. She died at the scene, authorities said.
The driver was described as a white man in his mid-30s, with collar-length, sandy-blond hair and wearing mirrored sunglasses. The van had a roof rack and may have front-end damage, police said.
