AT&T; Launches Proxy Fight: American Telephone & Telegraph Co. is seeking to remove the board of NCR Corp. as part of its hostile $6.12-billion takeover offer for the computer maker. NCR asked the Federal Communications Commission to investigate AT&T;’s offer, contending that AT&T; would be unable to sustain adequate levels of investment in its regulated phone business if it were also to operate NCR’s businesses.
