Energy Policies and Gulf War

I agree with Gratz’s commentary on the real reason for this war--the car. While commuting to work and school on my bicycle, I’ve noticed from observing the cars that whiz by me that many car owners support this reason for war by attaching yellow ribbons and American flags to their antennas. Of course, the insensitivity and grotesqueness of this image goes unnoticed by them. Perhaps it will take the image of a hearse that stops for a fill-up while driving home dead soldiers to jar the senses.

How nice it would be to see real compassion and support for the human beings in this war if everyone tied a yellow ribbon to his or her bicycle instead.
