NATION IN BRIEF : UTAH : TV Firm Fined Over Pornographic Films

A federal judge in Salt Lake City fined a New York City company $150,000 for broadcasting pornographic movies by satellite to 30,000 subscribers across the country. Home Dish Only Satellite Networks Inc., operator of American Exxxtasy Channel, pleaded guilty to a single count of broadcasting an obscene film and agreed to destroy such movies as “Hard-Core Girlfriends” and “Hot Shorts.” Movies were beamed to a satellite by a firm in Murray, Utah. Subscribers paid $260 a year. Home Dish and Exxxtasy are now out of business.
