From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Perrier Still Recovering From Recall: A year after it pulled its sparkling water from American shelves because traces of benzene were discovered in some bottles, the company has regained only 60% of the market share it had before the recall. Before the recall, Perrier was the third-best-selling water brand and the top-selling imported water, according to Beverage Marketing Corp., a New York-based consultant. It will be lucky to be in the top 10 when the 1990 numbers are tallied, said Hellen Berry, an analyst at Beverage Marketing. The company kept its water off the market in the United States from February--the month of the recall--until June of last year.
