Dick Clark Productions Inc., an entertainment concern based in Burbank, said its fiscal second-quarter profit rose 16% from a year earlier on a 9% increase in revenue.

In the three months ended Dec. 31, Dick Clark’s net income climbed to $412,000 from $356,000 a year earlier, and its revenue rose to $7.97 million from $7.32 million. The company, which produces television shows and other entertainment programs, attributed the gains to new licensing agreements involving its American Music Awards productions.

The company licensed the American Music Awards trademark for a live concert series in Japan, and licensed the rerun rights to 18 American Music Awards specials for showing in Japan.
