Camp Pendleton
A body found floating in the ocean off Camp Pendleton on Sunday has been identified as that of Daniel Scott Tauer, 24, an Oceanside bartender, authorities said Monday.
A jet-skier found the body about 9 a.m. about 1 1/2 miles north of the Oceanside Municipal Pier, according to the county medical examiner’s office. Oceanside Harbor Police recovered the body. The cause of death has not been determined. Oceanside police are investigating.
