Hewlett-Packard and Sun Microsystems in Venture: Sun Microsystems and Hewlett-Packard, fierce rivals in the computer workstation market, will announce Monday that they have agreed to work together in developing standards for so-called “object oriented” computer software. An increasingly popular technique for powerful desktop computers, object oriented programming uses symbols to represent groups of functions within a program, rather than simply using names to represent document files.
