A martial-arts instructor pleaded no contest Friday to two sex charges involving two of his minor female students.
Craig Sepulveda, 37, of La Mesa, will be sentenced April 23. Superior Court Judge Fred Link dismissed 19 similar counts against Sepulveda involving the same girls.
Deputy Dist. Atty. Doug Mooney said there is no sentencing agreement. He said Sepulveda could receive a sentence ranging from probation to eight years and eight months in prison. He could also be fined $10,000.
Mooney said the molestation mostly occurred at Sepulveda’s tae kwan do studio in Santee.
Sepulveda pleaded no contest to having unlawful sexual intercourse with the 16-year-old girl and to committing a lewd act with a girl under 14.
He remains free in lieu of $20,000 bail.
