South Pasadena : Leaf Blowers Rule Weighed

Gas-powered leaf blowers may soon be swept out of town.

The City Council on Wednesday asked the city attorney to draw up a measure that would ban the use of the gas-powered blowers, which have been criticized for creating noise and air pollution.

“There is a general consensus that this is a nuisance that people want to be rid of,” said Jim Jenal, a member of the city’s Natural Resources Commission, which has been studying the issue and soliciting public comment for several months.
