An Iraqi man living in El Cajon was ordered Tuesday to stand trial for murder and attempted murder in a shooting incident at a party Jan. 26 in La Mesa.

Nadir Jamil Mikhail, 20, will face the charges in connection with the death of Robbie Loftis, 19, of Lemon Grove and the wounding of Charles Hall, 19, of Spring Valley. Hall was shot in the arm and leg.

Mikhail came to the party to disperse party crashers. Cindy Shamoun, who lived in the house where the party was held while her parents were away, testified that Mikhail had not been invited but showed up with a gun.

Her brother, Steve Shamoun, said that Mikhail shot the gun into the air. He said he had never seen him before.

Mikhail will appear March 12 in Superior Court for the setting of a trial date. He remains in County Jail in lieu of $1.5-million bail.
