A bank robber referred to by police as “The Ponytail” bandit struck again Wednesday morning, escaping with $1,160 from a San Carlos bank, authorities said.

The man entered the Coast Federal Bank in the 8700 block of Lake Murray Boulevard at 10:30 a.m., police spokesman Bill Robinson said.

He passed a note to the teller that included the words, “give me your money or everyone will die,” Robinson said. The robber was the only customer in the bank at the time.

The man was described as white with acne, about 30 years old, 6-foot, 175 pounds with long, sandy-brown hair pulled back into a ponytail, Robinson said. He escaped in a compact car, possibly a brown Toyota Celica.

The man is suspected of robbing several banks in the San Diego area, Robinson said.
