SAY IT LOUD: James Brown finally gets his due from PolyGram Records in May when the label will release “Star Time,” a four-CD boxed set featuring 72 songs, rare photos, four critical essays (including one by Nelson George) and a three-part version of “Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag,” which includes the song’s unreleased third part, recorded in a blues-groove tempo. . . . For the past few weeks, the most-requested song on Dr. Demento’s syndicated radio show (which airs here Sunday night on KLSX-FM) has been Art & Artie Barnes’ clever “A Bomb for Hussein,” sung to the melody of America’s “A Horse With No Name.” . . . Chuck E. Weiss celebrates his seventh anniversary of Monday-night appearances at the Central Monday night. . . . And our Album Title of the Week goes to drummer/vocalist Sheila E., whose new album, due out from Warners, is titled “Sex Cymbal.”
