From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Police on Saturday were still searching for two men who robbed an armored car guard of $97,500 while he was making a delivery at a check-cashing company. “This was not your typical robbery,” Lt. Brad Kearns said. “This was a professional hit, a classic robbery. Someone knew what they were doing.” When the Loomis Armored Car Service Inc. van pulled up to Any Kind Check Cashing on Friday, the two men were already inside the building, police said. A guard carrying the satchel of cash went inside the business. One of the men went up to him, put a gun to his head and shoved him against a wall, Police Sgt. Jack Huth said. The other took the guard’s revolver and the satchel and both then “calmly walked out,” Huth said.
