Two Cyranos: Actors Gerard Depardieu and Jose Ferrer, both of whom have portrayed Cyrano de Bergerac on film, had a chance to compare notes Monday at the D.W. Griffith Awards of the National Board of Review in New York. Ferrer presented the board’s prize to Depardieu, who is also an Oscar nominee this year for essaying the bulbous-nosed Cyrano in the French-language version of the Rostand novel. Ferrer won an Oscar for his portrayal in the 1950 film.
