A woman who said she was sexually assaulted in the University of Arkansas athletic dormitory implicated four members of the Razorbacks’ nationally ranked basketball team, police files released by the prosecutor’s office showed. The players admitted having sex with the 33-year-old woman but said she consented.
Prosecutor Andrew Ziser said the woman decided not to press charges and there wasn’t enough evidence anyway.
One of the players, injured redshirt junior Darrell Hawkins, was suspended earlier this week by Coach Nolan Richardson for three games next season, as a result of the investigation.
The woman was legally drunk and said she thought she consented with the first man but didn’t think she had with the others in the Feb. 27 incident.
