Covina : City Manager Gets 10% Raise
City Manager John R. Thomson will receive a 10% pay raise during 1991.
The City Council last week adopted a resolution approving benefits and six-month salary increases over a three-year period for executives, department heads, supervisors, and administrative staff.
With the raise, which will be 5% effective Jan. 1 and another 5% starting July 1, Thomson will make $95,604 in 1991. The raise was approved in closed session.
Two other employees also got 10% salary increases. Assistant City Manager Francis M. Delach will earn $69,528, and Fire Chief Carl Johnson’s salary will be $77,574 in 1991.
Police Chief John Lentz got a 8% increase, which will push his salary to $81,114 this year.
