Glendale Man, 21, Seriously Hurt in Fall
A Glendale man remained in critical condition late Tuesday after falling approximately 70 feet from a waterfall in Angeles National Forest.
Kirk Engnath, 21, was attempting to cross Switzer’s Falls on Monday afternoon when he lost his footing and fell, landing at the base of the falls, said Lt. Robert Flores of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
He was treated by members of the sheriff’s search and rescue team and airlifted out of the mountainous area at about 4 p.m. by helicopter to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, Flores said.
Engnath suffered head injuries and multiple bruises in the fall, said hospital spokeswoman Peg Kean.
