SPLISH SPLASH: Just how much water do low-flush and low-flow devices in toilets and showers save? Inquiring Anaheim wants to know. . . . As part of its water conservation efforts (A1), the city will join other agencies and the Disneyland Hotel to install the equipment in 300 rooms at the hotel. Water use in the specially equipped rooms will be compared to regular rooms. “Everybody believes there’s going to be conservation,” says a utility spokesman. “The question is how much.”
Where the Water Goes
Anaheim’s municipal water system serves 252,922 customers with 22.26 billion gallons of water a year. Although 87% of the customers are residentials, they use only 58% of the water.
