Marine Arrives Home Just Before Newborn

NEWPORT BEACH — Minutes after his plane arrived from the Middle East, a Desert Storm Marine was given a police escort to a local hospital where his wife was in labor, authorities said.
The Marine, identified as Larry Polasek of Irvine, saw his wife, Sandra, give birth to a healthy baby boy, a Hoag Memorial Hospital spokeswoman said.
“Mother and son are in good condition,” said Gail Love.
