Cal State Fullerton baseball Coach Augie Garrido collected his 900th career victory when the Titans defeated Chapman, 6-3, Tuesday at Hart Park in Orange.

Garrido, in his first season back at Fullerton after coaching at Illinois for three seasons, has a career record of 900-436-7. He led the Titans to the College World Series championships in 1979 and ’84.

“The only thing 900 wins proves is that I’m old,” said Garrido, 51. “I’m excited from the standpoint that we accomplished this in Orange County.
