Cheering His Father: James Burrows, co-creator, director and executive producer of “Cheers,” will dedicate a theater in his father’s name this afternoon at New York University. The Abe Burrows Theatre will honor the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, screenwriter and director whose credits include “Can-Can,” “Cactus Flower,” “Guys and Dolls” and “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”
