Rancho Park residents are getting a new $14.4-million post office that will offer customer parking, customer windows and post office boxes at a new, accessible location.
The branch is under construction at 11214 Exposition Blvd., near the intersection of the San Diego and Santa Monica freeways, according to a written release by the U.S. Postal Service. It is scheduled for completion in November, when the branch office at 10587 Pico Blvd. will be closed.
The new Rancho Park Post Office will serve as home base for letter carriers in Rancho Park and West Los Angeles. It will have 51 customer parking places. There are no parking spaces at the Pico office.
The West Los Angeles branch office, at 11420 Santa Monica Blvd., will remain open as a retail station, but mail will no longer be processed there when the Rancho Park facility opens.
