Vasquez Says His Letter Didn’t Oppose Bird’s Endangered Tag

Re “Tiny Bird Poses Big Threat to Builders” (March 4): The title of your article was backwards. It should have been “Builders Pose Big Threat to Tiny Bird.”

Obviously, the building industry and (County Supervisor) Gaddi H. Vasquez think that lobbying the Department of the Interior will change the fact that the gnatcatcher is threatened with extinction by their actions.

Where do we draw the line? Are only big animals worth saving?
