Penny Hammel shot a 66 to erase a two-stroke deficit and defeat second-round leader Beth Daniel for the championship of the Desert Inn LPGA International at Las Vegas. Hammel, with a 54-hole total of three-under-par 211, finished one shot ahead of Daniel and won $60,000.
