NO MEAT: By now everyone knows about the annual “Great American Smokeout,” in which smokers are urged to lay off the ciggies for a day. Now comes the “Great American Meatout.” . . . Earth Save of Orange County is hosting the Anaheim part of the nationwide events Wednesday night at the Grand Hotel, with free admission and vegetarian munchies. The group wants people to “kick the meat habit, at least for the day.” Earth Save says it takes far more water, land and oil to produce protein from meat than from plants.
