An exhibit of paintings, prints and sculptures by Ojai artist Christine Brennan, titled “Silent Stories,” continues through April 13 at the Frances Puccinelli Gallery in Carpinteria. Ventura County residents may be familiar with her work from her shows in Ojai, Ventura and Santa Paula.

Brennan takes an understated approach in her work, using muted colors and earth tones. She prefers to leave all her work untitled to allow viewers to make up their own stories about the art. Many of her pieces are whimsical half-human, half-animal figures.

The gallery is at 888 Linden Ave., second floor. For information call 684-6301.

Just a reminder: Magician David Copperfield will perform two shows tonight at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara. No, he won’t do both at the same time--not even he is that magical. Show times are 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Some tickets are still available, but you had better hurry if you haven’t reserved a seat. Prices are $22, $15.50 and $12.50. For information, call the Arlington box office at 963-4408.

If you’d rather be on the stage tonight than in front of it, it’s the final day of Santa Barbara auditions for the Civic Light Opera’s May production of “A Chorus Line.”

Open auditions will be held at the Dance Warehouse, 1018 De La Vina St., beginning at 7:30 p.m. For information call 966-2324.
